Friends and Helpers

HOW YOU CAN HELP OTT

Could you make a donation, either one-off or on a regular basis (remember we can claim Gift Aid)? Could you organise a fund raising event, a fun run, a coffee morning or a quiz night? We have one current student who is determined to run for us in the 2008 London Marathon. Could you help with her fund raising, training or other preparations? Could you give your time and skills? Could you work as a volunteer in the classroom so we can provide even more individual attention? Have you got financial, managerial, marketing or charity skills that you could contribute as a trustee?

If you are interested in helping in any of these ways or would like further information, please contact our Office Manager on 01206 769973 or email rebecca.elliott@colchester.ac.uk.

FUNDING

About half of the funding that OTT needs to run comes from its LSC funded contract with the Colchester Institute to deliver the 18-week courses on Thursdays and Fridays.

Until the summer of 2007, we were getting funding from the ExDRA scheme (Essex Development and Regeneration Agency) to prepare students for the world of work, volunteering or further education. This contract has now come to an end (as the European Social Fund from which its funds came is also being wound up).

We are heavily dependent on any additional contracts we can pick up, charitable funding and fund-raising.
This is true even though we have been lucky enough to win a Big Lottery grant
